We ask North Korea to stop actions that violate its international obligations and put in danger the efforts of non-proliferation and disarmament, the official pointed out in an emergency meeting of the Security Council, summoned in response to the sixth nuclear rehearsal by DPRK, announced yesterday.
According to Feltman, tests and launches of ballistic missiles by the Asian nation generate alert and demand a joint answer of the Council, always on the basis of an efficient diplomacy to avoid a raise in tensions in Korean peninsula.
He also requested that decisions of the 15- member organization do not have a humanitarian impact in North Korean population.
Pyongyang confirmed yesterday the successful execution of the test of a hydrogen bomb, designed for its installation in the load of an intercontinental ballistic missile, which attributes a threat represented by the deployment in the peninsula of almost 40,000 American troops with nuclear capacity and systematic military maneuvers from Washington in the region.
Feltman warned that the rehearsal is the largest made by DPRK, and it would correspond to an artifact several times more powerful than those launched by the US in August, 1945 against Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
