TEHRAN, Sep. 03 (MNA) – Brig. Gen. Massoud Jazayeri said Sun. that if US finds the nuclear deal without merit it can do as it wishes but it certainly cannot make decisions about issues related to Iran’s defense program.

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces was reacting to the remarks made by American authorities on the possibility of inspection of Iran’s military sites, saying such remarks on the one hand contradict the content of the nuclear deal and on the other hand compromise the country’s national security.

“Trump administration’s brash claims about controlling or inspecting Iran’s military sites have no value to us,” he added.

“Those who were talking about complementary side to the JCPOA should know that the complementary side is the US and other parties’ implementation of their commitment under the deal,” he stressed.

Jazayeri went on to add, “while the US possesses the largest nuclear arsenal and weapons of mass destruction and banned weapons and is adding to the pile every day, the Islamic Republic of Iran has never sought production of nuclear weapons due to its adherence to religious principles.”
