TEHRAN, Aug. 28 (MNA) – Foreign Minister Zarif has issued a message of condolence on death of Ebrahim Yazdi who once served as foreign minister of Iran.

In a brief message, Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed condolences on loss of Ebrahim Yazdi to his family.

Zarif also expressed hope that soul of the Iranian politician will rest in the everlasting peace of God Almighty.

Yazdi was a revolutionary figure who sided Ayatollah Khomeini, the late leader of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. He also served as Iran’s foreign minister for a period of time.

Reports say Yazdi passed away in Izmir, Turkey, due to complications from cancer.
