Attended by 275 athletes from 41 world countries, the 2017 World Para Athletics Junior Championships, which had kicked off in Nottwil, Switzerland on August 3, came to an end on Sunday evening.
The Iranian squad comprises a total of 24 para athletes who managed to collect a total of 22 colorful medals in various athletic events.
After four fantastic days of neck-on-neck competitions, the best young track and field athletes of Iran garnered 12 gold, five silver and five bronze trophies.
In terms of medal count, Iran landed second after the US outfit who picked 36 medals. The third position was taken by British athletes who clinched 20 medals.
A total of 275 Paralympian athletes from 41 countries, including Brazil, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico and Poland, have taken part in the international multi-sport event.
