The Supervisory Committee of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) convened on Monday in a meeting that was chaired by President Hassan Rouhani, during which senior Iranian officials discussed the latest sanctions imposed by the United States and its consequences.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Atomic Energy Organization briefed the committee on the latest developments and the members stressed that the US has violated its commitments under the JCPOA, especially Paragraphs 26, 28 and 29, demanding that Iran must respond strongly, accordingly and wisely to the American administration’s hostile positions.
Welcoming the draft of the act of “Confronting the United States’ Acts of Exploitation and Terror in the Region” being discussed in the Parliament, the committee made decisions in 16 paragraphs to respond accordingly to US provocations. The decisions will be forwarded to related organs including Foreign Ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization for implementation.
During the meeting, the members of the committee also welcomed the latest statement by the Joint Commission of the JCPOA that was issued by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the head of the commission, stressing “continued adherence to JCPOA commitments and the need to ensure its full and effective implementation with goodwill and in a constructive atmosphere”.
The committee also stressed the need for a more serious pursuing of Iran’s demands from the Joint Commission in the next that the commission’s next meeting.
