The first stage of the refugee relocation took place in June, when around 150 Syrians returned home. The second stage will see nearly 500 families leave the refugee camp.
"The second stage of refugeerelocation is carried out today from the mountainous region of Arsal to Syrian Assal al-Ward. A column of 300 Syrians has already departed there," the source specified.
Refugees got the opportunity to come back home after the Syrian army regained control over the villages bordering Lebanon and the outskirts of Damascus.
Arsal is located in the mountainous area, which terrorist groups take advantage of to more easily smuggle weapons and transport militants through the Lebanese-Syrian border. Terrorists also indoctrinate the refugee population from the camp to fight against the Syrian army.
On Tuesday, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said he considered military measures against the terrorist groups hiding inside the Arsal camp and gave the militants their last chance to leave the Lebanese territory.
