Iran's Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaie met with Mufti Sheikh Ravil hazrat Gaynutdin, who chairs Russia Mufties Council, on Thursday.
Mr. Sanaie and Sheikh Gaynutdin discussed the ways to develop cultural inter-relations between Iran and Russia and exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and the Islamic World.
Referring to the growing ties of Iran and Russia, the Grand Mufti voiced readiness of Russia Mufties Council to contribute to the expansion of ties between the two countries.
Mr. Sanaie also appreciated the efforts of Sheikh Gaynutdin to unify Muslims and shorten the distances between different sects of Islam. He underlined that today the nations and the youth are more than ever in need of a real understanding of the original Islamic thought of logic and moderation.
