TEHRAN, Apr. 14 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who had left Tehran earlier on Friday arrived in Moscow and met with his Syrian counterpart.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who has travelled to Moscow upon the invitation of his Russian counterpart Sergy Lavrov, met with his Syrian counterpart Walid Muallem. Before having the trilateral meeting with both lavrov and Muallem, Zarif will have another bilateral meeting, this time with his Russian counterpart.

Iranian Ambassador to Moscow, Mehdi Sanie, and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari accompanied Mr. Zarif in his meeting with Walid Muallem.

Muallem had a bilateral meeting with Lavrov ahead of Friday's talks after arriving to Moscow on Thursday.

Political solution of Syrian crisis is the topic of the trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers.

The three sides will consider joint steps to minimize the negative consequences of the "gross violation of international law" as well as the threat to international and regional peace and security that the US strike amounted to, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Friday's talks will also go beyond the pressing diplomatic issues and will deal with trilateral relations at a deeper level.
