Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, at the head of a diplomatic delegation, left Tehran for Moscow early on Friday. Upon arrival in Moscow, he will immediately have a bilateral meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergy Lavrov, before sharing the table at the trilateral meeting with Lavrov and Muallem.
An announcement made by Iranian ambassador to Moscow, Mehdi Sanie, recounted that immediately after the bilateral meeting the trilateral meeting of Iranian, Russian, and Syrian foreign ministers on the latest developments of Syria will kick off.
The talks will mainly deal with the military and political situation in Syria, with participants set to discuss trilateral coordination efforts to prevent the situation from deteriorating and undermining the Syrian settlement process in the wake of US strikes against Syrian forces in retaliation for the alleged Idlib chemical attack, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
