RASHT, Mar. 31 (MNA) – President Hassan Rouhani has said despite achievements his government has hit, media have been in a wrong track in making everything upside-down.

Mr. Rouhani was in northern province of Gilan on Wednesday and reportedly he unveiled important economic projects in Anzali port city. He criticized the media of making government achievements in economics upside-down and made a general demand that they should abandon at least for 3 months their current course of coverage of news; “attempts have been waged to make real this figment that the high turnout in 2013 presidential elections had been misguided and achieved nothing; this is a wrong image they try to promote in the media,” said the president.

“The general atmosphere in the country favors development of any sort, to which the media should pay respect in aiding the government.”

Rouhani then illustrated his government’s achievements; “opening of export-import harbors in Anzali port city will be a competitive advantage for the country; yet the region has potentials which have remained untapped; tourism is such a potential where the Caspian Sea has received no promotion by the officials; the private sector has been the major partner in Caspian project and will make the region a tourist hub,” Rouhani told the media.

He said ties with Russia had grown drastically to 200 per cent; “this indicates the Caspian Sea would provide the country an important venue from where we could boost ties with northern neighbors to maximize national interests; Caspian Sea will even contribute to connections with Eastern Europe; Free Economic Zones will improve our job creation along with attractions for tourists,” he said.
