The same opinion was expressed by 26 percent of respondents in Great Britain, 23 percent in the US, and 20 percent in France. The survey was held by TNS Global for the Sputnik news agency and radio.
Overall, the number of people who believe that Crimea belongs to Russia is approximately equal to the number of those who think the opposite. Only in France are there more people who do not think Crimea is Russian territory.
In Germany, it was mostly young people who think Crimea is part of Russia. In France, on the other hand, mostly older people share this opinion: almost one third of respondents over 55.
At the same time, 51 percent of respondents in the US, 48 percent in France, 44 percent in Great Britain, 34 percent in Italy and 23 percent in Germany found it difficult to decide on Crimea’s affiliation.
The survey was held by TNS Global, one of the largest international research companies engaged in opinion polls, on February 16-22 2017. The survey involved 5,138 respondents in France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and the US.
