TEHRAN, Mar. 11 (MNA) – A Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) to boost mutual relations was inked between Iran and Ukraine at the Sixth Joint Economic Commission of the two sides on Friday.

Signed at the presence of Iran’s Ambassador to Ukraine Mohammad Beheshti Monfared, the cooperation document covers development of ties in several fields like agriculture, investment and finance, trade, chambers of commerce, industry and mining, steel making, machinery, geology, banking, oil, gas and petrochemicals, transportation, tourism, health, sports and the youth, communications as well as engineering consultation services.

Agriculture Minister Mahmoud Hojjati, who head the Iranian delegation to the European country, appreciated precise planning of the Ukrainian side expressing hope that the meeting would open new windows to Tehran-Kiev relations.

He also emphasized that various venues existed for cooperation between the two countries and called for proper exploitation of available opportunities to the interest of both nations.

Also at the session, Minister of Energy and Coal Mining of Ukraine Ihor Nasalyk voiced optimism that the Joint Economic Commission will hold bright prospects for relations between the two countries.

“Ukrainian officials are eager to bolster ties with Iran,” highlighted the official stressing that all existing capacities had to be used in the same line.

Businessmen and economic activists of Iran and Ukraine also held a joint session in Kiev on Thursday with Iran’s Hojjati and some Ukrainian authorities in attendance.

During the four-day stay, Iranian agriculture minister and a 40-strong delegation are also slated to hold meetings with Ukrainian officials and visit various production units.
