TEHRAN, Feb. 02 (MNA) – Deputy head of international affairs at Tehran’s Chamber of Commerce, while noting the upcoming visit of an Iranian delegation to Denmark, said the level of trade transactions between the two countries had a 60% increase in the last year.

Mohammadreza Bakhtiari told Mehr News that the head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines accompanied by a trade delegation is scheduled for an upcoming visit to Denmark to boost trade cooperation between the two countries.

“Denmark is one of our oldest trade partners, especially in food and pharmaceutical industries,” he said.

“Denmark has been most active in the fields of agriculture, livestock, pharmaceuticals, and food production, and has not have extensive cooperation with us in other trade areas, therefore the sanctions did not affect the level of our relations too much, although there was a decrease in the level of transactions, nonetheless,” he explained.

He went on to add, “immediately after the removal of sanctions, Denmark was among the pioneers of developing trade and commercial ties with Iran and is the first country which began investing in the Islamic Republic after the implementation of the nuclear deal.”

Bakhtiari stressed that Iran seeks further cooperation with Denmark, expressing hope that companies present in the trade delegation visiting Denmark would reach good agreements with their Danish counterparts in the fields of pharmaceuticals, food industry, and medical equipment.
