TEHRAN, Jan. 27 (MNA) – After the tragic event of Plasco high-rise building in Tehran which cost the lives of 16 firefighters and 4 ordinary citizens, President Raúl Castro of Cuba sent a letter of condolences to his Iranian counterpart.

Raúl Castro, the President of Cuba, offered his sincere condolences to his Iranian counterpart, President Hassan Rouhani, over the loss of 16 firefighters and collapse of the high-rise building in Tehran, announced the official website of Cuban Foreign Ministry.

According to the same communiqué, the Cuban president also voiced regret for the death of Iranian ordinary citizens, in addition to other financial damages of the “horrible event.” Another part of his message also offers condolences to the bereaved families.

Ten days ago, the 17-storey Plasco Building in Tehran, which opened in 1960s, was caught by flares of fires and after hours of rescue operation, the building collapsed and the rubble trapped around 20 under a heavy load of iron and steel.
