TEHRAN, Dec. 27 (MNA) – Iran’s envoy to Kuala Lumpur, Marzieh Afkham, has said UNSC resolution is a sign of growing support of the world for the oppressed people of Palestine.

“The recent resolution of the UNSC against Israeli settlements prove the unanimous support of the world for Palestine,” said Marzieh Afkham, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Malaysia on Tuesday referring to United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 adopted on Friday December 23, 2016, which condemns the Israeli settlements in "Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, including East-Jerusalem".

Afkham underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been backing the people of Palestine and consequently the global awareness about the issue of Palestine has been continuously raised.

She made the remarks at the presser with Malaysian reporters and journalists on the sidelines of Iran’s Cultural Days program held at the Malaysian National Library on Tuesday in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur wit emphasize that Iran, after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, has always defended the rights of the oppressed people of Palestine.

 “Such supports for the oppressed people of Palestine are important steps toward ending the crimes of the Zionist regime against Palestinians,” reiterated the Iranian envoy to Kuala Lumpur, “and the current facts of the world signify that the people of the world condemn the activities of the regime occupying Jerusalem.”

 When the former Spokeswoman of Iran’s Foreign Ministry was asked about the possibility of Israeli regime using mass destruction or nuclear weapons, she said that any move of the Israeli regime to use atomic weapons is a threat for the whole region and the whole world. She stressed that the people of the region are after peace, stability, and security and these issues demand the cooperation of all countries.
