“Iran’s response to it (the US Congress' vote to extend the Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) for another decade) will be decided in the supervisory committee on implementation of the JCPOA,” said Ali Akbar Velayati, a member of the committee, on Tuesday, on the sideline of the presser on the upcoming International Conference on Regional Security Order in the West Asia (to be held on Sunday in Tehran) in Tehran.
He stressed that the members of the committee unanimously hold that Obama’s signing the passed Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) would be definitely in violation of the Iran-Sextet accord of July 14, 2015, (AKA the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action). The veteran diplomat who was Iran’s foreign minister for 16 years reassured that the Islamic Republic of Iran would give an appropriate, clear, and firm response to the measure.
