Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Swedish Minister for Health Care, Public Health and Sport Gabriel Wikstrom on Monday.
He expressed Iran's readiness to help European countries resolve issues in the region.
Pointing to the progress made in economic and industrial transactions between Iran and Sweden, Larijani said the two countries have great potential to develop relations in different sectors including the environment, clean energies, auto-making industry, technology, health and treatment.
He also emphasized Iran's willingness to develop close relations with Sweden in various fields and stressed the need to facilitate trade and banking relations between the two countries and removing obstacles in the way.
Larijani described double-standard policies on issues such as the fight against terrorism and the campaign against drug dealing as well as human rights as the main reasons behind the rise in current problems and predicaments.
Gabriel Wikstrom, for his part, while expressing satisfaction with the results of his visit to Iran, said his country is willing to establish lasting cordial relations with Iran.
He also emphasized the interest of Swedish companies to invest in different parts of Iran, saying Swedish companies and the private sector have many incentives to be present in Iran's diverse markets seeking to expand business relations with Iranian trade companies and businesspersons.
Referring to the current developments in the region, Wikstrom stressed Sweden's willingness to create lasting peace and stability in West Asia, with the help of Iran, adding that Sweden believes the current problems must be solved through political approaches.
