TEHRAN, Nov. 16 (MNA) – ‘Atlan’ and ‘Captain Soleiman’ from Iran won awards at an Italian and Czech film festivals.

‘Atlan’ directed by Moein Karimoddini won the Best Documentary at the fourth edition of FRONTDOC international festival of Italy.  

‘Atlan’ relates the story of a horse-trainer, Ali Golnejad and his beloved horse, Ilhan, which is supposed to bring much success and glory to the family. Ali plans to marry his fiancé using the prize money won by Ilhan, but the events take a different turn to the worse and Ilhan receives an unfavorable draw, posing difficulties for Ali to grapple with winning the prize along Ilhan.

FRONTDOC is an international festival of documentary films devoted to the theme of borders (geographical, political, social, cultural, etc ..) and on the films that explore new frontiers between the documentary genre and other means of expression.

The 4th FRONTDOC took place in the city of Aosta, in Italy, on 11-13 November 2016.

Another Iranian documentary, ‘Captain Soleiman’ by Sa’adatali Saeidpour won the Best Short Documentary at the 42nd Ekotopfilm of Czech Republic. The festival features documentary films focused on on sustainable lifestyle, environment protection and conservation, innovation that leads to more effective use of natural resources.
