An Iranian film already screened at the São Paulo International Film Festival’s section for New Filmmakers Competition (for first and second documentary and fiction films) in late October, is going to vie at the 2016 edition of the MedFilm Festival in Rome. The 22nd edition of the Italian event will kick off on November 5, 2016 and it will wrap up a week later on 12th of the same month.
A feature film of 2015, A House on 41st Street, was directed by Hamid Reza Ghorbani and produced by Seyyed Mahmoud Razavi. Azita Iraie is the script writer of the film.
Mahnaz Afshar, Ali Mosaffa, Soheila Razavi, Sarah Bahrami, Arash Borhani, Alireza Kamali, Maani Rahmani, Mania Alijani, Alireza Neakdel, Behnaz Naderi, Behzad Davari, Jamshid Safari, Majid Rahmati, Babak Jafariyeh, Sara Najafi, and Ali Sokhangou make up the cast of the film.
The movie recounts the story of a family crisis created by the quarrel between two brothers and how the women in the story, the two wives and the mother of the two brothers try to deal with their problems. It is a dramatic depiction of contemporary world challenges.
The film was also screened at the New Perspective Section of the 34th edition of Fajr Film Festival in Tehran in early 2016.
