TEHRAN, Oct. 27 (MNA) – Majid Bizmark, Iranian Deputy FM, headed Iranian delegation at the opening of ministerial meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) in Indonesia’s Bali on Thursday.

The sixteenth meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association’s (IORA) Council of Ministers was opened in Nusa Dua, Bali of Indonesia on Thursday. The event hosted 9 foreign ministers of the member states and 12 representatives from the total of 26 members.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Environment, International Affairs and Stable Development, Majid Bizmark, headed the Iranian delegation to the event which was opened by Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi.

Marsudi, in the opening speech of the event, attended by the foreign ministers of Australia, Bangladesh, Comoros, Singapore, South Africa, Somali, Sri Lanka, and the UAE, recounted the activities of the Association which is going to have the heads of states meeting in March.

She called for at least two international documents to be drafted at the event and left the venue after her speech to attend the funeral ceremony of her newly demised father.

Addressing the 250 representatives and officials of the 21 member states, Marsudi urged for reaching a unanimous protocol of code of behavioral for the Indian Ocean to reduce to problems created across the water territory.
