TEHRAN, Oct. 09 (MNA) – Iran’s 98kg Greco-Roman wrestler has managed to stand on the third podium at Bolat Turlykhanov Memorial tournament underway in Kazakhstan.

Memorial of Mr. Bolat Turlykhanov, the Honoured Coach of Kazakh SSR Greco-Roman wrestling, is being competed in the Kazakh city of Semey on October 08-09.

The Iranian squad is participating at the sportive event with Mohammad Biranvand and Amin Mirzazadeh at 98- and 130-kilogram weight divisions, respectively.

On the first day of the tournament, Biranvand of Iran overcame a host country rival 4-1 in his opening match while he conceded a defeat against a Russian wrestler to find himself in the Repechage round where he quelled another Kazakh rival and won the bronze title.

Iran’s other representative Mirzazadeh is scheduled to meet rivals today on October 09.

Winners and the prize-winners of the tournament will be awarded by medals and diplomas.
