TEHRAN, Oct. 03 (MNA) – Foreign Ministry spokesperson praised the resistance of the Palestinian people on the first anniversary of the Second Palestinian Intifada.

Bahram Ghasemi commemorated the anniversary of the Intifada and praised the stability of the Palestinian nation and jihadi groups against the criminal policies of Israel regime.

He honored the memory of oppressed martyrs of Quds Intifada, those who sacrificed their lives marking commendable resilience in the face of aggression.

Ghasemi emphasized that international community condemns the brutal actions of the Zionist regime in violation of Palestinian rights, Judaization of al-Quds, desecration and destruction of Al-Aqsa Mosque, illegal settlement expansion, as well as murder, imprisonment and torture of men, women and children.

"The continuing resistance by the Palestinians and adherence to their causes and beliefs will annul Israeli efforts," he noted.

The Second Intifada broke out in September 2000 following a visit by Israel’s then leader, Ariel Sharon, to Haram al-Sharif or Temple Mount in Jerusalem al-Quds and ended in February 2005.
