The last event of the fifth edition of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Cup for Men was held at Nakhon Pathom Gymnasium in the central city of Nakhon Pathom in Thailand on Monday and the Iran Men's National Volleyball Team B defeated China’s 3-1 to ensure Iran’s third championship in the tournament.
The Iranians conceded in the first set with the score of 25-23 but won the next three sets 25-23, 25-21, 25-21 in the title showdown to claim the title of the cup.
The Persian volleyballers had already won over their Japanese opponents recording a 3-2 victory, with the set scores of 25–21, 17–25, 25–20, 23–25 and 15-11 at the semi-final of the competitions to reach the final.
The 2016 AVC Cup for Men kicked off in Nakhon Pathom on September 22 when the Iranians garnered a 3-1 (25-21 23-25 25-17 25-18) victory over Australia in the opener.
