The Iran Men's National Volleyball Team B won their opening match at the fifth edition of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Cup for Men, in Thailand on Thursday.
The Iranians lined up against Australians at the Nakhon Pathom Gymnasium in Thai city of Nakhon Pathom where they garnered a 3-1 (25-21 23-25 25-17 25-18) victory over Australia on the very first day of the tournament.
Iran’s Reza Ghara scored a team-high 21 points including 19 kills from 32 attempts, while Mitchell Tulley led Australia with 20 points including 16 kills.
Nasser Shahnazi, the head coach of Iran, sent Mohammad Fallah, Maasoud Gholami, Rahman Davoudi, Alireza Behboudi, Reza Ghara, Salim Chirli, and Mostafa Heidari to the court.
