Iranian northeastern city of Mashhad and northwestern city of Tabriz were the first two cities in Iran which heard the whistle blow signaling the start of the 6th week of Iran’s Persian Gulf Premier League of Professional Football on Thursday.

In Mashhad, Siah Jamegan hosted Saba of Qom and in Tabriz Mashinsazi of the city and Sepahan of Isfahan lined up against each other. The event in Mashhed ended with a 2-2 draw to let the visitor have their own one point share of the event before returning to Qom but in Tabriz the visiting Isfahanis edge passed the hosts 1-0 and took the whole 3 points of the event back to home in Isfahan.

Saipa and Gostaresh Foulad left the pitch with a 1-1 draw sharing the points the same as Peykan and Naft of Tehran whose fight ended with a scoreless draw.  But, in Isfahan, the green giants of the city were edge passed by Tabrizi giants 2-1 to have the revenge of their fellow Tabrizs be taken. One Isfahani team grabbed the three points in Tabriz and another one conceded the points to another Tabrizi visiting team. With the three point garnered by both Persepolis and Tractorsazi at the 6th week both teams have collected 12 points so far and Tractorsazi enjoys the top of the table for a better goal difference.

In Khuzestan, Naft of Abadan and Esteghlal of Khuzestan lined up in Abadan but the event was over with a 1-1 draw.

The 6 above mentioned fixtures were held on Thursday and the derby of giants of Tehran along with the fixture of Ahvaz between Foulad of the city and Padideh of Mashhad was left for Friday.
