TEHRAN, Sep. 13 (MNA) – Iran has launched a new terminal on the border with Pakistan to boost exports of petroleum products, especially kerosene, liquid gas and diesel.

In view of the uplift in Iran’s gas production and increased supply of gas to industries and power plants, a surplus of capacity for exports of petroleum products has emerged to the extent that a daily average of about 40 to 45 million liters of several oil products have been exported to various world countries since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 20).

Accordingly, the capacity for export of Iranian petroleum products has reached a total of 400 thousand barrels per day while the figure is expected to hit 500 thousand barrels per day upon implementation of new harbors at Mahshahr Terminal.

In time with the boost in export capacity for oil products, the Islamic Republic of Iran has opened a new terminal at the border with Pakistan in order to escalate shipment of products like kerosene, LPG and diesel.

Director of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) office in southeastern Chahbahar Port Abdollah Gitimanesh confirmed launching of a new oil export terminal at Rimadan border with Pakistan asserting “the new terminal is expected to enhance deployment of petroleum products to the neighboring state.”

At the present time, Pakistan remains as largest regional buyer of Iran’s LPG sue to high demand for liquefied gas posed by the neighboring country.
