TEHRAN, Sep. 02 (MNA) – In a message to Vietnamese counterpart Trần Đại Quang, President Hassan Rouhani offered greetings on the occasion of the national day of the southeastern country.

President Hassan Rouhani of Iran, according to the his official website, sent a greeting message to the Vietnamese President Trần Đại Quang, felicitating him and the nation on the occasion of the national day of Vietnam.

Rouhani also voiced hope for expansion of bilateral ties in areas of economy, politics, and culture under the willful efforts of the officials of the both countries.

“I wish health and success for his honorary and the people of Vietnam,” reads the ending sententence of Rouhani’s message which was started by addressing the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

On September 2, 1945, Vietnam declared independence from France which led to the First Indochina War after the Provisional Government of the French Republic sent the French Far East Expeditionary Corps to restore colonial rule in Vietnam.
