TEHRAN, Aug. 16 (MNA) – Iranian defense minister said that the US is the enemy of Iran and naturally unwilling to let Iran benefit from the nuclear deal of July 14, 2015.

“The Americans are not willing to let us enjoy the merits of the JCPOA (The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signed between Iran and Sextet on July 14, 2015),” said Iranian Defense Minister, Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan, at a ceremony to honor the anniversary of the freedom of the first group of Iranian prisoners of war from Saddam’s camps.

The Iranian official maintained that the US is the enemy of Iran and the enemy is always expected to block the way. He then stressed that it does not mean that the deal was a failure.

“If we compare the situation before the deal with the one after the deal, we find that the pre-JCPOA situation meant sanctions added to sanctions in a bid to introduce Iran as a global threat,” highlighted the general, “It was unanimously agreed upon that a measure should be taken but within the red lines of the Islamic Republic.”

The Iranian minister also contributed the national movements in the region to the effects of the Islamic Revolution of 1979 and underlined that it is now known that resistance is the essence of victory.
