TEHRAN, Aug. 15 (MNA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi pointing to the critical situation in Yemen, said the decision of representatives to resume parliamentary activities in Yemen is a mindful and responsible act to fill the country's political and constitutional gaps.

While foreign military aggression has wildly slaughtered Yemeni people and destroyed the country's infrastructure, Ghasemi said, the international community has failed to take effective measures to end the war and stop abuses against civilians.

He praised Yemen's parliamentarians’ wise decision to increase their role in decisive developments of Yemen.

FM spokesman stressed that the agreement, national unity and refering to the elected figures are the best option to force the aggressors to accept the will of the Yemeni people and to put an end to the conflict through peaceful means.

He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran has rejected war and violence as a tool to overcome the will of people since the beginning of the crisis in Yemen.

He underlined that Iran supports dialogue to put an end to the unfortunate conflict in the impoverished country.

Yemen’s lawmakers held a session in parliament for the first time since the start of the civil war two years ago. They attended the session in the country’s capital, Sanaa, on Saturday.
