TEHRAN, Jul. 31 (MNA) – Iran national Cerebral Palsy (CP) football team breezed past German rivals at the 2016 IFCPF CP Football Qualification Tournament underway in Denmark.

The Iranian squad offered amazing sportive skills in their opening match at the 2016 IFCPF CP Football Qualification Tournament and overcame Germany 7-1.

Mahdi Jamali (four goals), Jasem Bakhshi (two goals) and Sadegh Hosseini (one goal) found the net for the Iranian side.

Given the sweet victory over Germans, Iranian players set up a date with North Ireland on Monday as their second group stage encounter.

Iran has been drawn up against Ireland and Germany in Group C of the sportive event while Group A consists of Scotland, Australia and Spain.

Meanwhile, Portugal, Venezuela and South Korea will compete in Group B of the tournament and Group D is composed of Canada, Japan, host Denmark and Finland.

The event marks a qualification tournament for the Cerebral Palsy Football World Championships in September 2017 to be hosted by Argentina.

The Iranian squad comprises Babak Safari, Hossein Safari, Mahdi Jamali, Hossein Tizbar, Behnam Sohrabi, Jasem Bakhshi, Amir Amjadian, Ehsan MAsoumzadeh, Sadegh Hasani, Hamid Fathizadeh, Naser Akbarpour, Lotfollah Jangju, Mohammad Kharrat and Moslem Khazaei.

The 2016 IFCPF CP Football Qualification Tournament for the Intercontinental Cup is being competed in Denmark in the city of Vejen from 26 July to 7 August 2016.
