TEHRAN, Jul. 17 (MNA) – Leader’s senior adviser said Sun. the American side has not acted on its commitments under the JCPOA and the sanctions have not been fully lifted.

Ali Akbar Velayati went on to add, “Obama must give a written order on the lift of sanctions, but despite their agreements, he has yet to do so. We have complied with all our commitments before the deadline but unfortunately, the Western sides have not removed the sanctions.”

“Just as the Leader has asserted, the Americans may lift nuclear sanctions but they will impose new ones under various pretexts, and Iran will not stand for this,” he said.

Velayati said the aim of the JCPOA was that Iran would limit some of its nuclear activities in exchange for lifting of sanctions, adding “they have vowed to remove obstacles hindering our economic relations with the world but so far they have failed to bring their promises into action.”

Elsewhere, the Iranian senior official touched upon the Kurds’ moves in the region, saying “the Americans seek to strengthen Syrian Kurds in the region and connect them with the Kurds in Iraq and other countries so that an independent Kurdistan would form.”

“This is a potential threat,” Velayati warned, “if Kurds gain independence, a second Israel would be formed.”

Velayati went on to add, however, “we are now even more hopeful about the resistance front in the reign. The future of the countries and the region is decided by those who move along the path of resistance and we will continue to remain by the line of resistance.”
