Sawsan Chebli, who is German deputy spokeswoman under chief spokesman Martin Schaefer, speaking at her press conference on Friday, said visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Berlin is upon Germany's invitation.
Pointing to Iran's deal with the world upon its nuclear program, Chebli said the agreement proved diplomacy can solve and neutralize even indissoluble differences.
"12 years ago no one thought we could have so much to talk and almost no one thought that eventually we would reach an agreement," she underlined.
She stressed Germany is willing to develop relations with Iran and in many areas we see the potential for that; "I'm not afraid to say that in many areas we still have some disagreements and need time to achieve a mutual trust."
Chebli added that restoration of mutual trust is not possible overnight; "at the same time, it is clear that we are not capable to resolve any crisis in the region without Iran's role."
She asserted that the two countries are not always like-minded regarding some regional issues including the Syrian crisis; "We want Iran to play a constructive role in resolving regional crises."
