Underlining the growing trend of cooperation between the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and a host of other countries especially those from the European Union, the Head of the AEOI, Ali Akbar Salehi, elaborated on the potentials in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the background of friendly ties between Iran and Bulgaria.
Salehi made the remarks while receiving Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev and Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova who are visiting Tehran along with the delegation headed by the Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov.
The Iranian official, during the meeting, welcomed the development of scientific cooperation and exchange of research experience between the two countries.
Bulgarian Deputy PM also boasted the capabilities of his country in the field of peaceful nuclear energy and highlighted the possible areas of cooperation for waste management, plant decommissioning, and increasing the running life of the plants.
Cooperation between the academic entities of his country with the research centers of Iran was another area of Donchev's interest.
Both sides of the meeting voiced strong determination for deepening the extent of bilateral cooperation, especially in peaceful nuclear energy.
