TEHRAN, Jul. 12 (MNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani underlined that Iran can provide lasting security for Europe's energy field.

Larijani, in a meeting with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on Tuesday, said the situation in the region is critical, adding the issue of terrorism is not a simple and tactical topic to be resolved with a few aerial bombardment.

Stating that today the region and even Europe are involved in terrorism, Larijani said the fight against terrorism requires international cooperation.

Pointing to the long history of relations between Iran and Bulgaria, Larijani noted that the visit of Bulgarian delegation to Iran could be a turning point in relations between the two countries and today is a good time to strengthen bilateral ties.

Iran’s trade relations with EU has traditionally been deep and Iranian businessmen are interested in engaging with most countries, Larijani said pointing to the current obstacles including banking problems which are not completely resolved after the removal of sanctions.

Borissov, for his part, said terrorism is a global crisis, adding European countries unfortunately consider terrorism and Islam the same.

“No religion certainly supports the actions of terrorist groups, however, some major countries support terrorists,” he noted.

Pointing to Brexit, Bulgarian PM said the move divided the country into two parts providing the grounds for the collapse of British pound which has made the nation 10 per cent poorer.
