TEHRAN, Jul. 10 (MNA) – Iran’s U20 national volleyball squad has defeated Qatar during Asian U20 (juniors) Championships in Taiwan.

In second match, Iran’s juniors played Qatar and won in three consecutive sets 25-16, 25-15, and 25-11. Qatar recruited players from many foreign nationalities to boost its national squad, a measure the country has successfully taken in many other sports.

Behrouz Ataei sent Javad Karimi, Esmaeil Talebi, Amir Hossein Esfandiar, Esmaeil Mosafer, Tayyeb Eini, Ali Asghar Mojarrad, and Rasoul Aqcheli to the court. In the first match, Iran had crashed Turkmenistan 3-0 on Saturday and will face Hong Kong in the third match. 

Asian U20 Championships is hosted by Taiwan, with 16 teams in group stage where Iran had a draw of easy confrontation with Qatar, Hong Kong, and Turkmenistan.
