TEHRAN, Jul. 05 (MNA) – Commander-in-Chief of Iranian Forces has appointed Brig. Gen. Abdolrahim Mousavi as new Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Mousavi is succeeding Major General Gholam Ali Rashid who has been now appointed as the new commander of Khatam-al Anbiya Headquarters.

The HQ is in charge of designing and coordinating operations of the Armed Forces.

Brig. Gen. Mousavi has a record of 96 months of continuous presence in war zones of west and southwest of Iran during the eight years of Imposed War with Iraq.

On June 28, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appointed Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri as new Chief of Staff of Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Bagheri replaced Major General Gholamhossein Firouzabadi who now holds the position of senior advisor to Ayat. Khamenei in military affairs.
