Pournazeri’s composition of tambour and kamancheh will entertain the lovers of Iranian classical music during one of Scandinavian most prestigious music festivals to be held July 7-8 in Norway. Forde Festival is an international interdisciplinary festival which hosts music troupes from all around the world in its famous World Music section.
‘Nishtman 2’ as called by Pournazeri had several performances in Théâtre Saint-Malo and Agony in France.
It incorporates all folk lyrics of Kurdish origin which Pournazeri has worked out in his project. The work was recorded in Iran on 2015.
Sohrab Pournazeri himself plays tambour and kamancheh, with Mahyar Tarihi as player of santour and sanour-bas, Ayein Meshkatian and Hossein Zahavi as players of percussion are other members of the group.
The project received standing ovation all over Europe. This young music virtuoso will perform along his father Keikhosrow Pournazeri and Tahmouras Pournazeri, his brother, both also music maestros, in Tehran’s Vahdat Hall, July 20-21.
