TEHRAN, Jun. 28 (MNA) – A group of Iranian veteran regional musicians have departed for Russia to participate in the ‘Voice of the East’ Music Festival developed by Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory.

Peyman Bozorgnia, regional music researcher and the team leader, told Mehr News correspondent that ‘Voice of the East’ Music Festival is one of the most important music events developed by Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory and has organized remarkable activities in the field of Iranian music, particularly regional music.

According to him, due to the high capacity existing in Iranian tribal music and the presence of prominent local artists, this edition of the festival has been dedicated to ‘mouyeh’, ‘lullabies’, and in general Iranian nomadic tones.

He went on to add that the final list for participating musicians consisted of 45 women artists but the number was cut down due to travel limitations and age difficulties.

“In essence, tones and music associated with tribal men and women are the most attractive and most beautiful melodies of Iranian regional music and have high potential to be used in introducing Iranian music to the world,” he said.
