Ali Mardomi’s short film Cemetery Men in its second international appearance will be screened as sole representative of Iranian cinema in the competition section of the 7th edition of Sardinia Film Festival of Italy, alongside other titles from host country, Turkey, the US, Mexico, the UK, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Brazil, Poland, Canada and Estonia.
Cemetery Men narrates the story of an old man working in a cemetery. He is the only man there who says prayers for the dead and enjoys a quiet life. One day a young man with a beautiful singing voice sets foot in the cemetery and thus disturbs the tranquility of the old man’s life.
Founded in 2006, the Sardinia Film Festival intends to foster and exploit cinematography in particular independent production, encourage exchange and comparison between different artistic expressions, as well as encourage young people to occupations of the cinematography.
The 7th edition of the festival will be held on June 27 – July 2 in the Italian city of Sassari.
Cemetery Men will also make an appearance at the 14th edition of Ischia Film Festival Ischia, Italy, to be held from 25 June to 2 July 2016.
