TEHRAN, May 31 (MNA) – In a ceremony on Wednesday, in the presence of Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Sayyari, the 40th flotilla of Iran’s Navy will dock home and the 41st flotilla will set off for free waters.

Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari will attend a ceremony on Wednesday to dispatch the 41st flotilla of the Iranian Navy to free waters.

The 41st flotilla is consisting of Martyred Rear Admiral Naghdi destroyer and Lavan logistic-combat warships.

At the same ceremony, the 40th flotilla of the navy, comprising Alborz destroyer and Tonb logistic-combat warships, will be welcomed after a mission of 55 days and sailing 6,750 miles.

With an increased presence in international waters, Iran’s Navy has played a bold role in protecting naval routes and providing security for merchant vessels and tankers.

Conducting patrols in the Gulf of Aden since November 2008, the Iranian seamen have acted against piracy in order to safeguard merchant containers and oil tankers owned or leased by Iran or other countries.
