'A golden chapter in the contemporary history of Lebanon and the region,' is how Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, described the victory of the Lebanese over Israeli regime’s occupation of south of Lebanon on May 25, 2000. Zarif made the remark in two separate greeting messages he sent to Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, and Gebran Bassil, the Lebanese Foreign Minister.
Iranian chief of diplomacy congratulated the occasion to the nation, government, and military of Lebanon, along with all Hezbollah’s warriors.
In his two messages, Zarif also reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran will firmly continue its support for Lebanese government, nation, and army and added that he prays for the all-time honor and dignity of Lebanon.
After 18 years of fighrs and occupation of the southern areas of Lebanon, the Israeli regime retreated from the Arab country on May 25, 2000, after being eefeated by Hezbollah forces.
