Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh added that if Iran does not take a decisive and firm stance against the ‘outrageous and excessive’ demands of the US, the western country will only continue to intensify this policy against the Islamic Republic.
“It is a habit of the Americans to become compliant if faced with a firm and decisive stance,” he said. “If we fail to stand firmly against the recent move by the US in seizing $2bn of Iranian asset, they will continue stealing our frozen funds up to 40-50 billion dollars.”
Brig. Gen. Hajizadeh further referred to the US ‘scenario of pressure and threat’ toward Iran’s missile capabilities, adding “today, they tell us 'don’t talk about missile programs, and if you tested a missile or staged a military drill, don’t say it'. If we were to accept the US terms, they would take another step forward and say, ‘don’t do it right now, not in the Persian Gulf region’. Then they would ask, ‘why do you even need a range of 2000 kilometers for your missiles?’”
Hajizadeh went on to add, “if we allow the US to decide for us, they will then ask us to let them inspect our missiles to see if they can carry nuclear warheads. Then they would want to install cameras in our bases and finally would tell us to stop our deterrent programs altogether!”
“Of course, we will never allow Iran to degenerate to that situation,” he vowed.
