TEHRAN, May 15 (MNA) – Finnish ambassador to Tehran said Sat. FM Zarif accompanied by a delegation of trade companies is slated to visit Finland this month to discuss ways to facilitate money transfer and banking ties between the two countries.

Harri Kamarainen, the Finnish ambassador to Tehran, made the remark on Saturday on the sideline of his meetings with representatives of the private sector in Lorestan province, adding his country has been taking steps to improve its trade ties with Iran following the implementation of the nuclear deal and the lift of international sanctions since January.

“In the past year and a half, some 200 economists from Finland visited Iran to engage in investment projects,” he said, adding “the Finnish foreign minister has also paid a visit to Tehran and taken certain measures for investing in the country.”

Kamarainen went on to add that the visits of high-ranking Finnish delegations to Iran have opened doors for furthering parliamentary, agricultural and economic relations between the two countries.

“We have informed our banks to get ready to resume transactions with Iran,” he said. “Finland’s biggest bank is currently working on the banking issues that the sanctions had caused for Iran.”

He stressed that the time required for money transfer and banking transactions between Iran and Finland will be discussed at a higher level, and Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who will be accompanied by a delegation of Iranian trade companies, will deliver a speech in Finland in May to further discuss this matter.
