TEHRAN, May 07 (MNA) – Iranian national Mountain Bike team has finished fourth in Team Relay sections of 2016 Asian Mountain Bike Continental Championships underway in Thailand.

The 22nd Asian Mountain Bike Championships & 8th Asian Junior Mountain Bike Championships is underway in Chai Nat Province of Thailand while Iranian mountain cyclers gained the fourth ranking in Team Relay event on Friday.

Iran's team comprises Farzad Khodayari, Sajjad Taheri, Mohsen Ramezani Alavi as well as Mohammad Poursharif.

Host Thailand, China and Japan finished first to third in Team Relay section of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Amin Najafi only managed to finish in the seventh place in Downhill (DHI) section of Men Elite category while representatives from Japan and Thailand bagged the gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

Iranian national team had a preparation camp in Europe for 20 days and took part in different international races including DHI World Cup in France.

The country's team is directed by Slovenian coach Primoz Strancar and Iranian coach Mehdi Mirzahosseini.

Asian Mountain Bike Continental Championships - XCO-XCR-DHI kicked off on May 4th in Thailand and will come to an end tomorrow on May 8th.
