TEHRAN, Apr. 24 (MNA) – Iranian athletes have managed to win two gold medals at the 2016 competitions in ski-mountaineering in the framework of the ISMF.

The International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF) World Cup convened from 22-24 April in the Russian city of Kamchatka where Iranian cadet and junior athletes managed to receive two gold medals in the vertical race.

Navid Meghdid and Hossein Seid at junior and cadet categories respectively claimed the event’s title.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Abolfazl Savei and Reza Saharkhiz finished 4th and 16th at the senior age group section.

The 2016 World Ski Mountaineering Cup, organized by ISMF (International Ski Mountaineering Federation), is a World Cup in five stages including five Individual Races, three Vertical Races and four Sprint Races, with the world’s best athletes racing to score precious points to achieve the crystal cup.
