TEHRAN, Apr. 22 (MNA) – Former British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw says US has still much to do to make JCPOA successful.

In a short, exclusive interview to Mehr News Agency correspondent, Former British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw responded to a question on the future of JCPOA as Iran is accusing the United States of not allowing the full implementation of the Iran Deal come to happening and not allowing removal of sanctions allow trade with Iran; “I personally am concerned to see fully implementation of JCPOA and it is of crucial importance, I have talked to friends in the United Kingdom and we have anxieties that there are some in American system who are against this implementation,” he said.

Straw, who was one of three European foreign ministers conducting first rounds of nuclear negotiations with Mr. Rouhani as head of Iranian negotiation team at the time, also acknowledged that President Obama and Secretary John Kerry were committed to implementation of JCPOA, but admitted that people in Congress, both Republican and Democrat, have barred the deal to bear fruits.

“What matters and I wrote about and Foreign Minister Zarif talked about when he was in the United Kingdom at the beginning of February, is importance of ensuring trade and investment is facilitated by proper lifting of restrictions on banking,” said he and asserted that “that is the area the United States, in my view, has too much to do.”

“I know the Iranian officials are voicing their concerns in this regard and will continue to do so; and recognize in British Parliament, on both sides, Conservative side as well as Labour side, Iran has a role of friend and we want to see the deal succeed,” Jack Straw concluded.
