‘Payambar-e Azam’ (Great Prophet) wargame is currently underway from 12-14 April in Sistan and Baluchistan, south of Kerman, south of South Khorasan and east of Hormozgan.
According to Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force Brigadier General Mohmmad Pakpour, Army Aviation, more commonly known as ‘Havaniruz’, will play an effective and significant part during the drills.
Meanwhile, Air Force fighter jets commenced the first stage of their preparatory training for the upcoming air show on National Army Day, April 17, over the country's capital city of Tehran.
In case of favorable weather conditions, F-7, F-14, F-4, F-5, MiG-25, Lightning, and 707 refueling aircraft will show off their full range of capabilities during a spectacular air show on the National Army Day.
Commander of Army Ground Forces Brig. Gen. Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said Mon. the army will stage four great military drills in the next few months, saying the first of which is due in June with a focus on improving general military capabilities of organization and mobilization.
He also announced holding of 17 specialist drills which will address capabilities in missile, engineering and logistics, electronic communication command, drones, modern warfare, air and land joint operations, and hostage release.
