DAMASCUS, Apr. 06 (MNA) – ISIL militants attacked the surroundings of Deir Ezzor airport, 460 kilometers northeastern Damascus, where they even used rockets with mustard gas, according to military reports released on Tuesday.

According to reports, attacks began with 17 vehicles driven by suicide bombers, which were destroyed by Army units.

Due to those actions, the IS launched rockets loaded with mustard gas against one of the military checkpoints in the surroundings of the airport, injuring soldiers, who were assisted immediately.

Combats extended to the surroundings of Jafra and Maryiya localities.

In Deir Ezzor, following the defeat in Palmira and Qaryatein, the ISIL tries to concentrate their actions and clear a kid of pocket of resistance in which they are surrounded and which includes territories of that province and Raqqa, headquarters of the alleged ISIL capital.

Both, the ISIL and al Nusra Front continue violating the ceasefire decreed last February 27, and from which they were excluded due to their own decision and the determination of the signing parties, Russia, the US, and Syria.
