"The field of agriculture matters a lot and the government has major plans for the arena in the next 12 months," said Iranian First VP Es'hagh Jahangiri in the ceremonies to mark the openings of projects of farm and livestock husbandry in the Southern areas of Tehran Province late on Wednesday.
The senior official boasted the vast capacity in Iranian farming and agriculture and hailed that around 27 to 30 percent of Iran's population reside in rural areas where the major occupations are related to husbandry.
Recounting the number of people with agricultural jobs, Jahangiri underlined the impoertance of the section for the whole country and the government.
"The natural sources and preliminaries of farming are the basic necessities of the section so soil and water are really important in the field of agriculture," highlighted the Iranian first vice-president.
Jahangiri reassured that the government is seriously determined to improve the section in the new Iranian year with plenty of plans and projects.
