TEHRAN, Mar. 22 (MNA) – President Rouahni will begin fresh round of post-JCPOA trips with Pakistan as the first destination in the new Iranian year.

Following the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on January 18, Iran’s Presidnet Hassan Rouhani began a post sanction tour by visiting several European countries.

In the early days of the new Iranian years, Rouhani is slated to make a visit to Pakistan on March 25 at the official invitation of the Pakistan Prime Minister Sharif as a new round of the post-JCPOA tour promising a brighter future in relations between the two neighboring countries.

President Rouhani’s upcoming trip to Islamabad, in view of Iran’s new situation and the lifting of international sanctions, will revolve around expansion of economic and trade cooperation and providing grounds for collaboration between the private sectors and entrepreneurs of the two sides.

Meanwhile, macro and semi-finished projects and contracts between the two countries, including the implementation and completion of Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline and increased electricity exports from Iran to Pakistan, have been put the agenda of meetings and consultations in Islam Abad as the first priorities of the two countries.

Accordingly, a panel comprising of Iranian finance ministers as well as a delegation of commerce activists and the private sector will accompany Rouhani during the visit to Pakistan.

As to neighboring countries with numerous historical, cultural, religious and linguistic commonalities, Iran and Pakistan have always had deep-rooted and unshakable ties despite the ups and downs.

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had visited Tehran in April, 2014 heading a top-ranking political-economic delegation.

Nawaz Sharif along with Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army Raheel Sharif had also travelled to Tehran after a visit to Saudi Capital Riyadh in February 2016 with the aim of mediation to help resolve tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
